What a great excuse to hunker down, hang some decorations, and indulge in some of our favorite comfort food. Hope you all stayed safe and warm this weekend.
These photos make me want to move to Providence and live in your attic.
beautiful snow shot…it doesn’t take a snow storm for you folks to eat well! I always look forward to your weekend updates. Happy holidays!
corie – Aw! Any time you guys are in town, you are more than welcome 😀
Joan – Thank you! Happy holidays to you as well!
Oh my word. That is one well-fed weekend! Also, I love your napkins/towels… so cheery and colorful.
Stunning, upside-down, crispy-skin chicken!
could i get the recipe for the last dish?? it looks so amazing delicious and warm…
Marie – Thanks!
MTO (or is it, OG?) – Ha! Mike was supposed to flip it halfway through, but forgot, so the other side, though delicious, wasn’t quite camera-ready 😀
anita – you’re in luck – I actually wrote up a version of this dish elsewhere, on the first food blog I contributed to 🙂 I’ve tweaked it over time, and it’s never quite the same twice, but the link to my post is here. It should at least give you a good starting point.
Grandma’s chicken soup! I’d recognize that bowl of soul-warming, satisfying pure comfort anywhere. 😉 That recipe has cured many a cold, and to paraphrase June Carter Cash, lifted me right up on days more blunder-full than wonderful. Merry, Merry Christmas and keep on keepin’ on with this – I know the author and chef behind this is just as good – if not better – than the dishes offered here.
