The Party’s Over

the morning after

As you can see, I’ve got a bit of cleaning up to do. Our cocktail gathering yesterday was a big success, and once I’ve caught up and caught my breath, I’ll tell you all about it. For now, here’s Mike’s first post on the drinks side of things.

  1. glad it was a success although i had no doubt. i thought of you when the heavens opened yesterday – but luckily it didn’t last long. had brunch at prune today. fabulous and wonderful and i so wanna have dinner there…and overall i am having a blast. eating, shopping, eating, museuming…

if my lunch date cxl’s on tuesday, lemme know if you’re free. and ‘the modern’ was excellent. i’ll post the pics next week.

looks like you’ve got some cleaning up to do…

Oh, I’m so glad you enjoyed Prune! I love that place to death. 🙂

The rain was quite a surprise – the weather forecasts called for sunshine and humidity, but when it was so overcast when we woke up on Saturday morning Mike made sure to pull up the satellite weather on the laptop. Even as it was pouring in our yard, there was nothing on the local tv weather reports about rain! But it was brief, and aside from soaking our most comfy outdoor chairs, it wasn’t too big of an issue – we all migrated out to the yard eventually and enjoyed it late into the evening.

I should be free on Tuesday, so drop me a line when you know what’s up!

but i did meet my friend and we lunched at le cirque. he works across the street. i tried to get him to go somewhere else but i’m so not gonna complain. food is good there – not great. he took me back in may when i was in ny last. plus the eastside was crazy due to Bush/UN stuff. i went to Mood the fabric store on 38th street this morning and from there it took 40 minutes in a cab to 58th and lex. lovely…

i am so over eating out! yes.. it is possible… from chinese takeout to the modern to centolire to prune to lavagna to le cirque… i am over salted and buttered and although it’s all been wonderful. next trip prune for dinner and the spotted owl.

my friggin flight was canceled. so i leave tomorrow now. i miss my bed – my kitties – oh yeah, and cary too! as of now i’m booked on the 12:20pm. here’s hoping…

  4. Wow. I hate it when good food and fun results in a huge disaster zone in my kitchen – I have a thing about messy kitchens. It drives me nuts!!

Look at this, though – I’m in training for a few weeks and I totally miss out on everything you’ve been updating on. TIME TO CATCH UP!

Welcome back! The mess actually looks worse than it was – it took a lot less time than I thought it would to clean up. But yes, a messy kitchen makes me crazy!
