And don’t underestimate those photos! The dark shadows make them look all the more enticing… or maybe that’s simply because I go for the mysterious types- ha!
So Restaurant Widow, have you thought about channelling your wants and wishes for your husband’s presence into some kind of creative art project? I’m not too artsy, but every once in a great while, just doodling around with magazine clippings and scissors and glue and making a collage helps me process the loneliness that crops up. It makes me smile at myself!
Hope you’re tingling with spring, despite everything.
I love poached eggs on greens. That does look like a beautifully poached egg. I’m having people over for brunch tomorrow and I’m getting ready to poach my eggs today. Thanks for giving me something to aspire to.
I’ve been reading your and your husband’s blog for a while and I have to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed your writing, creativity, wit, and obvious love of good food and sharing it with loved ones. I also wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear of the recent difficulty. Sounds so very shocking and painful. I hope you both will have time to regroup and heal. And I’m also hoping that wonderful doors of opportunities will open for you and Dietsch.
Thanks so much for reminding me that eggs are one of those things that we shouldn’t forget and dang, girl, you always make me hungry with your use of them.
Thinking of you and Mike and hoping all is/or will be well. Wish you lived down South near me since you seem to be able to find the best local sources for EVERYTHING!
Hugs,
Karin

Mmm they all look delicious to me. I’ve been working on my egg poaching, any technique tips?

Poached perfection! YUM!
Hear, hear for perfection!
what a beauty! thus far my poached eggs have all been feathery amoebas with semi-congealed yolks… this meal looks like a dream
That is a beautiful poached egg. The perfect punctuation on a day like today.
A truly fabulous-looking egg. And the toast looks good, too!
Gorgeous. And simple. And simply gorgeous. Probably simply delicious too
I’ll admit it, I’m a little jealous of your mad egg-poaching skillz.
